Thermostatic fan

The wiring into my thermostatic fan came adrift, I pulled the plug apart and managed to resolder the wires and replaced them in the same order as the plug at the other end of the wiring loom that slides into the plastic fan shroud.
The fan now seems to be running fast even at normal temperatures, my question is do the wires go in the same order (colour) at both plugs?
