What do you think of this then
Me & the wife went to walk the dog at the local park, when we got there, there was an ambulance stuck on the grass about 100 yrs from hard ground with a manchetts breakdown truck trying to winch it free with (ratchet straps)WTF . Another ambulance was in the car park thinking the person was in there waiting to go to hospital.
We walked the dog for 30mins and could see the ambulance was still there so I said to my wife shall I ask them if they want any help i.e a tow, already thinking that road tyres would not do any good on wet grass . So as she is a midwife she said well yes as there are two ambulances out of action now and someone could be waiting for one .
So over I go to the towtruck guy offered my help and got a no thanks. OK I`ll ask the ambulance staff, do you need a tow mate as I have a landy in the car park its there if you want it. Oh mate that would be great thanks.
So over I go just to back up to it and mr park ranger pulls up in the (ranger) and said you not towing that out. Why I said. Because you will cut the grass up , I ignore him carry on with the task and he`s taking photos of the disco and said you will be charged for damage and taken to court if you carry on mate. So I stopped and pulled back in the car park and waited for him to go, AND THEN the patient was wheeled across the park to the other ambulance so how long they had been in the back waiting for a tow I dont know.
But I left as I was not allowed back on. Seems the park was more important than the care for people

Ambulances & jobsworth are a sore point in this part of the Highlands after a paramedic refused to attend a local (800m away, town so remote it has it's own ambulance) heart attack victim coz he was on lunch. Person died.
I'd give that story to the local rag and let them ask the Park's dept why they thick that grass is more valuable than human life

Too right - name and shame. Get the local press on it.
Remember your tax is paying for that to be allowed out. Fro the sake of the UK every idiot like this needs to be fired, then we wouldn't have a debt problem.
Well done by the way, thanks for helping out Tony

Ah but the arm that was hanging off could have been removed and the stump left to grow back into an arm, the grass however would never recover

yes please do tell the local press, that is terrible. Us landy owners get a bad press for driving 'gas guzlers' but we are always only too willing to use our landys to help people out in a scrape- we do our bit for our own postive PR and someone who stands in the way like this should be ashamed of themself.1st Defender 90 200Tdi 2nd Discovery 1 300Tdi 3rd Discovery 2 TD5 GS 4th Discovery 3 TDV6 S 5th Skoda Superb 4x4- says it all...

This really does need to go to the press, and the Council's Chief of Parks Dept.
Personally, I would have carried on, and got the ambulance off. Numpty ranger could have taken all the photographs he liked. If they were so daft to try taking you to Court, I would have enjoyed my day out and invited the press to that party. Under the circumstances I would doubt very much that would have gone anywhere, but even if it had, I suspect that nothing would have happened.
What a t**t! Better than Dad's Army.
