Thinking of moving away

Hi

Time has come for me to think about D3 replacement, and the only thing I can see that would fit the bill is a L494 V8 S/C 7 seater. These seem to be like a unicorn to find so if anyone knows of one let me know.

It seems like the wrong time for me, as since buying the D3 4 years ago it has never been running better Rolling with laughter

Is that my problem on autotrader, it is classed as a 5+2 and not 7? Banging Head

Just wondering why you aren't considering a D4.
Whilst the D3 is a cracking motor, the D4 is a different, more refined beast (esp with 8 speed box).

A different refined beast? How are they more refined it's the same car? You only need an 8 speed box with a log burner. The V8 pulls nicely with 6 speeds.

And I would join the crank lottery and belt replacement cycle

You quite obviously haven't driven one. Rolling Eyes

I talk from my experience with a MY05 D3, a MY11 D4 and a MY14 D4

Maybe you're best just sticking with your original choice of an L494 Neutral

Sorry I am not being funny. But all I can see that is different is an interior and some thicker anti roll bars? Am I missing something?

I’ve owned 2 D3s and currently run a 15MY D4.

Whilst the 8 speed box is more refined when up to speed and pressing on, from standstill I always found the 6 speed in the D3 a smoother drive, just didn’t seem as ‘jerky’ for want of a better word. Not so noticeable if you drive the D4 like you stole it, but the D3 just seemed more relaxed at lower speeds.

A V8 S/C RR will trump them both but are as rare as rocking horse poo in 7 seat versions.
