24 mpg is not so unreasonable for just general running around in such a car. I remember working out the economy of a 110 V8 (works van) once and it was a steady 11 mpg.

Ours was averaging 28.6 since we had it and have done 3000 miles since but got in it the other day and it said 22.2? Strangely is pulling alot harder as well but I think the wife might of reset the trip by accident but she swears she hasn't?

I used it the other week and put £30 in and it did 150 mile so that's around 28-30mpg I think

I'm guessing your minds already made up Whistle
All your reasons seem to keep coming back to mpg. I don't understand why folk want a big heavy vehicle then moan it doesn't go from Edinburgh to London on 20 quids worth of fuel, no sh17 Sherlock it's almost 3 tons in weight. And has the aerodynamics of a breezeblock.
Just stating the obvious Thumbs Up

^^^^ Thread done Bow down ha.

I agree, one thing that was absolutely irrelevant to me when looking at a D3 was MPG.

After doing 600 miles a week in a 330d bmw to and from work for years i could squeeze 50mpg out of that if I was very careful, was hoping the disco would of been a bit better than 25mpg but then I knew the answer with the 4wd, weight aerodynamics etc.

Just can't believe it's the same on diesel as my other car which is a 3.2 petrol that revs to 8000rpm

We do love it just having a think as it's an early one as well, I'm having a look underneath tomorrow night so I'll see what she looks like for the mot
