Here are some pics of the drain tubes location, the passenger side with the CJB removed and the driver's side with the accelerator pedal removed.

Thanks for your help Steve, it was good to meet you too, and thanks for your help removing the glovebox! Did you go for the ball joint swap on yours?

So more progress today...

Were the car had had blocked aircon drains previously, and the probably long term broken sunroof drain, there were a couple of patches of flaky paint and surface rust on the floor pan.

Having sanded these back, i then coated them with Buzzweld Rust Encapsulator - a rust treatment and preventative primer.

Then I moved on to removing the rear quarter trims, some previous DIY wiring that wasn't needed, and then the headlining.

floors sanded

Floors painted

Headlining removed!

Did you find the source of the leak?

Damaged or blocked drains?

My 3 currently has a wet passenger size carpet Sad

Yup, the passenger side elbow had disintegrated and was basically emptying its contents into the car. Also the aircon drains were clearly blocked at some point and also dumped their contents into the car.

Nah. I am adding a few things and carrying out restoration more than replacing stuff. And anything that gets upgraded will be kept..

some progress this weekend, after I, in the week, painted tinted Raptor on the floors (Two coats).

I am disappointed with the colour, RAL2004 doesn't match the car well at all. Also the opacity wasn't great. I mixed spot on to the UPOL guidelines, but two coats wasn't enough. However Raptor is such a hideously poisonous stuff that I couldn't paint anymore as I don't have the right gear for inside work and having all the doors and windows open in the cold means its too cold for the paint, so I warmed the car with a heater, painted the floors with the doors open, then shut the doors and turned on the heater again.

Three days after the second coat it is just possible to work inside the vehicle with two doors open.... the chemical stench is awful!

So today, with the doors open in the sunshine, i assembled a lot of the dash, fitted carpets and refitted the centre console. Every item was of course cleaned thoroughly before assembly.

With great trepidation, this evening I turned the key..... Amazingly there were no error messages and everything seemed to work.

Next step is to fit the heated steering wheel!

Heated wheel is next (after the front seats go in) . before rest of interior.

I ran a power feed whilst the dash was apart.
