Thoughts on D4

Can the owners of the new D4, in OZ,
tell me what they think of it, especially compared to the D3

I dont want to dampen any aspirations you have for getting a new D4 but we have had quite the experience with ours. http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic42832.html

Since then, we are arranging to get a new car which our dealer has agreed to.

Despit this obvious trouble, we love the car and really do not want anything else. Just hoping that the new one is trouble free.

I cant really comment on its performace as we only had it for a couple weeks. Although the loan car we have (2.7 18" wheels) is very nice to driver which even the wife has had no troubles driving and parking. Obviously the expected body roll for a large vehicle which you would be aware of in the D3, but what do you expect for a 4WD. Power is a little delayed in the 2.7. Would love to have the 3.0L. But when the revs get up in the 2.7, the car gets going with no probs.

Love the interior and the overall space, which is essentially why we got the D4. We really do love driving it.

Good luck with the new one
If they would spend as much time getting the reliability sorted as they
do its design and ability then the car would be worth taking a risk on.

Norto,

The D4 drives much better with little body roll compared to the D3. Power delivery is smoooooth by comparison with acceleration coming on from 1000rpm right through to 4000rpm. It is extremely quite with no decernable engine noise at idle and very little road and engine noise whilst on the road. The criuse control is more sensitive and holds speed without dropping more that 2k. Steering is direct and bump control is excellent. This car is everything they said it would be.
