A reporter for Country Life was driving along a country lane (in his D3, what else..) when he saw a pig with three legs in a field. Mystified, he stopped at the farmhouse just along the lane.. He knocked on the door and the amiable farmer came to the door..
"I'm a reporter and I'm curious about that pig you have - the one with three legs - and I wondered what happened and whether there's a story in it, " he said.
The farmer replied, " that there's an amazing pig, three years ago oi fell in t'river over yonder an' oi never learnt ta swim, an' that there pig, he saw I wuz in trouble an' 'ee dived in and pulled me to t'bank and saved me loife..."
"That was wonderful, " said the reporter, "was that when he lost his leg?"
"Nah, nah," said the farmer.. "An' two years ago me farm'ouse caught fire in tha' noight, and I was overcome wi' tha' smoke.. That pig heard me shouting fer 'elp, and he broke down the front door, found me an' me missus an' dragged us out inta tha' fresh hair and saved us loifes."
"That's even more amazing," said the reporter, was THAT when he lost his leg?"
"Nah, nah, nah," said the farmer. "Then just last year I wuz walking dahn that there lane when this eejit in a car ran inta me, broke me legs and knocked me out.. That there pig, 'ee broke down 'is gate an' the front door and dragged me woife houtside to tha' scene of tha haccident, and she called the hambulance and that there pig, 'ee saved me loife agin!"
"Well," said the reporter, getting frustrated, "was THAT when he lost his leg?"
"Nah, nah, nah, nah," said the farmer...
"Wi ha pig that good, ya don't eat it all at once......" Make the most of this life, you may not have a Landy or skis in the next one.
