Throttle body
Hi,guys
I just had codes read at my local dealer, after recant stall and RPM s fluctuating and jerky ride.No actual fault codes , just these symptoms and pesky reduced engine performance massage with , well , short check engine light. Before it was also showing MAF sensor being faulty, so i have replaced it myself along with new air filter, also checked for loose clamps on intake .a friend of mine who works on LR also replaced spark plugs and looked into throttle body for any dirt, but it was clean.Anyway, no more codes for MAF, but this jerky ride and REP message plus stalling twice.Dealer diagnosis: Found code for throttle position sensor.they told me that i have to replace entire throttle body, since the sensor does not come separately. Is this legit? Can i get just a sensor and replace it myself?
Dealer quoted me$ 278.00(175pounds) for the body and$ 333.00 per labor, which I think is insane.I am a tool handy guy and can do a lot a things myself, does it involve any lipid drainage or not?
2005 4.4 v8 LR3 Thank you.

Nope - just remove the air intake trunking, disconnect the electrical wire and unbolt the 4 bolts.
Nowt difficult there ... Regards,

I have just heard from my dealer that after throttle body replacement i would have to reset transmission and engine adaptations. Is this true? This might complicate things on DIY installation.Help here, please?

Although it's not mentioned in the Workshop Manual, it'd probably be a good idea.
IIRC, I read somewhere that disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes will reset these anyway. Just be sure to allow the car to 'go to sleep' before disconnecting ...Regards,

Not so according to TFC.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
