Throttle body / Accelerator worn off? |
|
Hi,
I suspect my throttle body has worn off, its a 4 years old D3 V8 with 50,000km on it.
Apparently the engine cannot hold the rev when my foot is at 20-30% range of my accelerator, during normal acceleration, the rev counter flucuates between 1800rpm to 2000rpm, i have to either step on the throttle harder or release it. Cruise control works ok.
is this the right analysis?
Regards,
KL (Gecko) LR lives!

Throttle body could have leaking seals. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Mine were leaking and only syptoms were a slight shudder on take off and lousy fuel consumption.
I would check to see if it is leaking first. If it is you can just replace the seals. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Dealer did mine but I would think if you get someone to rev the engine and listen and feel if any air is gettinin.
The body should be easy to get off I would think but someone else may know better. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
