Time to service the Webasto Heater!

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good place to get spares for the heater?

It's time to service it and give it a clean. So I guess I'll need at least the main gasket LR004141?

I could also do with some sort of connecting pipe to I can take it off the car and leave the water system intact and in place of the heater? What are other people using for this?

Thanks!

So I managed to completely remove the FBH from the car and disassemble it.

Inside was very dirty and I spent a lot of time cleaning the combustion area

After a careful reassembly and new O rings and main gasket, the outcome has remained the same...

The heater starts up, blows smoke, gets warm, but as it is about to really ramp up the heating cycle, the flames goes out and it starts a cooling cycle. It just throws the general 02h error.

So I'm going to have to buy a new burner and see if that cures it.

Unless anyone has any better ideas please?

Did you prime it after taking it off? Also did you fit the new fuel pump, sounds like exactly what mine did and the new fuel pump cured it.

Also was the metal cup that the end of the glow plug sits in ok? They can burn away and then they won’t fire.

Yes, I primed it and verified that fuel was coming up to the heater first.

It's also a new fuel pump that was ticking away nicely too.

The cup was complete and had a little cut out in it to accommodate the glow plug. That's correct isn't it?

Yep that’s all correct. Have you tried blowing air into the intake while it’s starting to see if you can get it to run that way?

I tried blowing down it and putting a hair dryer down it BEFORE I cleaned it.

It didn't seem to make much difference.

In normal operation and AFTER a clean, it wouldn't have additional air pressure, so I didn't blow down it after the clean.

It smokes (after a good prime) and the red burner light illuminates on the Webasto software, but as the burn cycle starts to accelerate and the fan speed starts to increase, it then cuts out and goes into a cooling cycle.

Could this mean that the glow/flame detector is faulty or the two sensors are faulty?

The Webasto software shows them returning sensible numbers though...
