Yes that's about right time wise.
Not a bad route to Rouen and down. Not that much in tolls either.
I usually go that route when heading to St Gilles.

Thumbs Up

We have been there several times and always travel via Rouen, usually break the journey half way and have an overnight stay, why rush, its a big country
This site is very popular with Caravan Club members and has many repeat visitors and a large British presence. Its a well run family owned campsite. Christian the owner is very friendly. We usually ask for a sunny pitch but theres a choice of being in the trees if you want shade. The shady pitches are popular with Dutch visitors.
Theres loads to do in the area. take your bikes as there are some good cycle routes in the pine forests between the site and the coast. Excellent Zoo at La Palmyre, worth a visit.
Im sure others will be on soon with their recommendations.
We particularly enjoy this site as its inland and away from the crowds but still within a short car ride to the coast with free parking. You have an excellent choice of beaches as well giving a wide variety of sea conditions. St Palais and Pontaillac have safe bays, The Grande Cote has waves and world war two bunkers which add interest. The Cote Savage is very rough and provides interesting times in the waves but take care as it can be very rough and strong currents, so not for small ones. We are all strong swimmers and my "kids" are now 28 and 23 and we struggle some times. But great fun. Stick to the patrolled areas at all times. Excellent service from the Saveurs de Mer.
Thought we'd got rid of the kids but we now drive and they fly out to La Rochelle with partners for a break, they like it so much.

Logis is an excellent site Very Happy First went there some 10 years ago, going back this year after hearing that it still has the appeal it had way back then. Brilliant large pitches, selection of sun, shade or both. Excellent facilities (inc. 2 pools) and close to good attractions as well as a very safe beach at Saint Palais sur Mer.

You will not regret it.

Steve

Thumbs Up

Ps. This time we've opted to go Portsmouth -St. Malo. A bit more expensive but an easier option driving wise.

As you exit the tunnel into Rouen, sat nav can be confusing, when we go that way, I tend to ignore nav until over the river, then take a 270 degree off ramp and run out alongside the rail yard through the industrial area and pick up the E402 route again.

You can go two other routes through town, one not suitable for the D3 with a roof load, but I find this the simplest.

Mostly now we go on the Caen ferry, more cost, but less mies and no hotel required

I am doing a similar journey this yr. in the past I have gone south from Caen but may go through Rouen but I was told it can be a pain dragging a caravan through Rouen. Is this the case?
