Tinted Rear Lights
Hi does anyone know if rear tinted lens covers are legal or not, does anyone have them fitted and do you have to inform your insurance company. I found some rather expensive ones on e-bay but im off the understanding that you can buy spray and do it yourself, any advice welcome
cheers lads n lassies

you can also by a tinting film too
I have been looking into it for my FL2, only a light smoke shade
i understand you have to have a reflector visible, on my FL2 i have these on the rear bumper so i could do the whole light
I found a place on eBay USA, selling precut film but he did not accept paypal
I have heard Lamin-X is a good film to use on them too, but again i had problems as his sheets where too small According to the website the rolls he offered are only 12" wide by how long you need, since my cars lamps are 12" X 14" this would be very tight to make it fit nice
I have a discount code if you want to go down this route

I have some on my wifes mini ...goes through the mot no problem ..
Wife got stopped last week for a doggy numberplate but nothing was said about the rear lens's.
I have some more spray and am going to do a couple of D3 lens's ( not too dark just a tint ) ..i have got the O/S/R lens already ( brand new ebay for £15 ) just looking for a cheap N/S/R
I did a lot of research on tints and found the best to be one made by DIA-WYTE LTD - SMOKE TAIL SPRAY
I ordered 3 cans about 3 or 4 years ago ...cant remember were , but it was abroad somewere

Did the lad Punto rear lens, not impressed, your look much better wiggs, as they have a gloss finish, my lad came out with a matt finish -

Nor can I ..that was just to show you what it looked like ...im sure i got mine from a site in the USA .
I only used about 3/4 can on those lights ..and they are quite dark . You just put on as many coats as you require . It is very strange when the lights are on as you wouldn't expect it to show through .
I will try and get a picture tommorow for you with the lights on
Dont go paying £345 ..or whatever they were on ebay !!!G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
