Tinting a D3
Just had mine tinted locally rather than use the dealer, (who uses a local company but charges twice the price).
Are the elements of the heated rear windows, (all three), supposed to stand out so much when tinted (I'll get a picture up tomorrow).
I thought that once 'cured', it would fade, but it doesn't appear to
Cheers

They will show a little on tinted windows, especially compared to the mineral tint on factory glass (you can't see the elements). However if a cheap nasty film is used and is not applied well then the effect will be pretty bad, as the film is not conforming to the contour created by the element.
A good film, applied well, with the right lubrication and heated properly at the time of fitting won't look bad at all. If you wan't proper advice speak to Ben at Midland Tinting - he won't mind giving you some pointers "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
You can just make out the edges on this one . . . .
Was even less on the back window - will keep hunting for better pics."To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Thanks for the photo 90BHP.
I tried unsuccessfully to get hold of Ben, looks like he was away for the whole week and I didn't have any time this week to loose the car!
Here's a some pics I took this morning, you can clearly see the red tracks of the element. I just want to make sure that all non-factory fit tinting is similar.
Thanks.

Had mine done a couple of weeks ago, even darker in limo black and yes the elements do stand outI have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!
