Driving along M4 today to London, all the way had no TMC. The icon had a line across it (no reception according to the manual).
Can that be right, considering I was on one of the busiest stretches in the country?

Could it have been something to do the huge amount of cars stopped at J15?
Luckily I was in Cheltenham this morning so didnt see it but colleague got caught in it coming this way D4 HSE - Aintree Green

Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all

Don't forget that TMC is broadcast via RDS on certain radio stations. Generally the main channel is Classic FM so if you drop out of reception or they have a technical problem in broadcast then you ain't going to get it  21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I passed the scene of the accident going in the opposite carriageway at 9.15 this morning. All the lorries involved in the accident had gone, and all that was left was one chap with a broom sweeping the centre lane and a Police Disco 4 keeping watch behind him!! I kid you not!!
The radio, on the way home said Westbound would be open at 11am due to "Cleaning of a fuel spillage"...Typically British I'm afraid. I got caught in the tailback just after Jct 14 and Stop-Go for about 30 mins!
I had Radio 2 on, so maybe that's why TMC not working?

Should work in the background regardless of the channel you are listening to. Find the TMC icon on your sat nav settings and check in the TMC settings that Classic FM is set as the station  21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

My boss got caught in it. Was a mess
I got stuck on M3 yesterday going from farnborough to Hursley. Usually takes me 45 mins. Took me 3.5 hours due to a mini bus having a tyre blow out so I heard. Painful D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
