Top tip for RAIs

Second Top Tip of the day!!

Take your RAI off now while it can still be done and refit with proper hex bolts (M4 & M6 ISTR). Took mine off for new windscreen and had to drill out one of the silly Allen key bolts that had rounded off (one of the three fixing the top piece to the "neck"). Also the bolt holding the top of the RAI was rusted to Censored and only just got that off.

Have shiney new bolts ready to put the RAI back on once I get a break from painting prior to MIL visit! Big Cry

Nope - a snorkel implies it's water tight.

The RAI raises the opening but the pipes inside the still have drainage holes in them. This means if the water level inside the engine bay gets too high she'll suck water.

If you follow LR driving guidelines on wading depths the RAI is fine, but if you want to go deeper buy a Safari Snorkel and a pair of bathers Laughing

The RAI also ensure cleaner air when driving in dusty environments.
