AA man said there were no faults logged... Which is weird giving it should throw an EGR error (blanked).

Hoping my little BBS reader thing will tell me more when I get home...

No, mine's fine. I's just anglefire has a nice new engine and mine's got 102k on it. He'll never notice the swap. Snigger

I'd just hoped the engine problems were 07MY onwards. Will be very interested to see how you get on with WD. Thumbs Up

...not wanting to jump the gun, but could something have gone wrong when reconditioning the autobox ~1K ago to cause something like this? Input seal? I have seen/noticed and oil leaks...

Hate to be the grim reaper, but sounds pretty identical to when mine went, mine was locked up, turned out to be Conrod cap bolts had sheard and cap dropped off jamming/knackering engine,

Really hope yours is not and its a simple fix

Good luck

Thanks Thumbs Up

Back home (7 hours for the AA to get me about 15 miles... very annoying but another story).

No fault codes of note (couple in the body control) but nothing in the engine management section. Should I expect some sort of fault code?

If the cam pulley sheared the engine would still turn over on the starter wouldn't it? It wouldn't start, but it would crank freely.

From what I understood, the engine is not moving a single bit. The crankshaft is stuck solid. One can eliminate all the ancillaries as being the cause of the hold-up by removing the fan belt. If it still doesn't move then it must be something internal to the engine (for ex. as Randylover says) Big Cry

If the engine is not moving, then no I don't expect any fault code in the engine management section. To the Engine ECU, the engine hasn't started operating so nothing to report. As for any faults related to when the issue happened, well the fact that there are no faults indicates that the issue is purely mechanical and also has mechanical root causes (ex. it was not caused by lack of oil as the oil pressure sensor would trip. It was caused by some bearing seizing up or some bolt coming loose or shearing and jamming things)
