Short term suspension fault |
|
Whilst I was on holiday on the Isle of Wight last week I had visited the airport for a spin in a light aircraft. The access road to the airport hanger was an old unmade road so I used off road mode and lifted the suspension to make the bumpy ride a little more comfortable for all on board.
Upon leaving the airport I did the same thing and raised the suspension and when I then lowered it to normal height a message came up stating "suspension fault".
I drove for a mile or so to a car park and pulled over to check the handbook. As the warning light was amber I decided to continue. I left my car in another car park and went to lunch, when I returned and started the car the warning light had gone out. It hasn't reappeared. Do you think I have anything to worry about? Maybe not..this can happen from time to time for varying reasons such as an over sensitive sensor pinging out an inappropriate message to the brain ...TFC has made numerous post replies on the subject. Usually resolved with a soft reset i.e. key out ...leave for five minutes then restart. I've had it a few times over the last 15 months all dealt with in the same manner. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I didn't think it was a problem, but nice to have my mind at rest.

Well not being present at the time and only having the information provided to ascertain an appropriate response I decided to be cautious in my answer. If tomorrow morning fishermans suspension parts become a molten stream of metal running into the gutter then I can sleep easy becuase I only said "Maybe not" 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Thanks Ken, I sort of got that but just wanted to get in on the wind up a bit. I think I need some real friends in my life.

thread hijack
I managed to get a suspension fault uncoupling a trailer at the weekend. The hitch wasa bit reluctant to release, I assume the nice hot weather ( ) but obviously attempts to persude it to realease were moving the back of the car up and down and the compressor was going mad........until it stopped
It seems ok again now though...... end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
