SCANDINADIAN LIGHT SETTING without a faultmate (cheapskate)
Fed up with yer lights when on auto having a mind of their own ?
No access to a faultmate to enable Scandinadian lights on setting?
Fear not ! I have been tinkering and have 'enabled mine ' for free
Simply by taping the ambient light sensor over with a bit of black tape.
Simply remove the casing from around your rear view mirror
Release the sensor by pushing the two square pins down with a tip of a screwdriver.
Sensor should now drop down.
You will see a bank of four 'sensors' with a reflective strip in the middle
Don't touch these!
It's the one on its own with a round clear bit of glass poking out with a sensor below
Tape over both of these
Reassemble
Smile you just saved ya self ££ in activation
Auto wipers work fine
Lights can be turned off with that twisty knob thing on the dash if need be

Is it easy to remove the casing around the mirror base without breaking it?

No you won't and even if you had, without the auto lights switch on the dash
This mod will still not work for you.

You see, I've wanted to do this since getting the D3, but the follow me home lights get on my threp'ny bits!
Is there anyway to disable them?
And stopping the Nav screen coming on for 10mins when unlocking, that does my head in too, as it doesn't go off when re-locking unless you put the key in the ignition...
