Happy Purchase Decision

Been spending months trying to decide between another Disco and the new RRS. The problem being in Australia the new RRS has only arrived in dealers.

Managed to have a good look at the new RRS for the first time today, and I am very happy that I ordered another Disco, the MY14 with all the options.

Would have been very upset with the choice of a RRS (all that extra $$$$) from the point of view of cabin size, boot size, and general ability to handle a family.

Disco is such an amazingly versatile vehicle it is hard to move away. The RSS is a beautifully made vehicle with a beautiful interior but boy is it small inside for all that outside size.

Seems all bonnet to me. Smile

Good for you. I just took delivery of my first Land Rover. A brand new Discovery XS with a few extras. I could'nt wait for the MY14 facelift.

The new RRS is nice but it just doesn't have the versatility of the Discovery Thumbs Up

I could not afford new, but looked at the rrs and disco. Maybe the rrs has more 'royal ascot' ness about it, but the d3 is streets ahead in terms of useability and everyday family bus. And with my hse d3 I don't think it is too far behind in terms of luxury either! Chuffed with d3.

Popped into my local dealer and had a quick look at the RR Sport. I opened the rear door had a little snigger and shook my head, I didn't know I was doing it until the salesman, who was right behind me at that stage, commented that I was 'another' discovery owner!

It's a pretty car but I don't want a pretty car - my wife does! enough said there then!

One wife, three kids, a Lab, a caravan plus 5 mountain bikes. It's a Disco for me....

I was I a similar place to lots here on this thread. I went into the showroom to buy the new RRS having liked what I saw in the magazines. Really pleased I did though as for me at this particular time in my life I'm sure that the diminutive dimensions (comparatively speaking) of the sport, would have been difficult to live with day in - day out. I could have possibly got along with the small rear space but never with the boot. Don't care what LR says, it's probably got 65% of the discos.

Then the choice was easier, because I couldn't justify 85k plus on the new full fat and the run out old model may just depreciate a bit quicker than normal, so that was me sold on the most practical car that LR makes......and I'm happy with that choice. Very Happy

Totally agree. We test drove the RRS and whilst it IS a fantastic car, the interior space was significantly worse than the D4. We definitely made the right decision to stay with the D4! Ali likes them so much she's changing her FL2 for a D4 in March. Can't say I'm disappointed about that.
