They are successful because people don't want hassle in selling even if it would make more money.
If you go to any tip on a weekend you will see people binning stuff that would make them a few quid.
With regard to the original post I wouldn't mind betting LR wouldn't give you much more as a trade in, would be on the front lot for £38k next week IID PRO

I disagree, we used them to sell a vx corsa, 09 plate, we described as is and they gave us what they quoted, less £40 admin, no hassle,
They offer auction value, which in our case was better than what we were offered at trade in, and it allowed us to negotiate a better price on the new car...
One of the main issues is people describe their car better than it is and get disapointed when they get a reduced value...
Although in regards to the opening thread... Have they tried getting a trade in value as a comparison If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

A GS Model is a poor mans car, so the money offered reflects that low level, I guess nobody would want a GS on their forecourt so probably it would be traded out to a back street garage, simple really 
I've got a GS and no matter what people think about them I think they are great value cars  but Im not selling 8)

Used them when we bought the D4 to sell our KIA Sorento and they gave us far more than the dealer offered in PX - be honest with them and they will be honest with you  LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF
