First time out after dark in my new Disco tonight and damned if the Sat Nav screen didn't flicker. Really bloody annoying! Will speak to the dealer as it's due in next week to have the wooden dash fitted.

It takes a while to settle down. I just got back from Liverpool. When I set off, it was full bright and very annoying. After 10 minutes it was dimmed nicely. But it did'nt flicker. Silver TDV6 HSE

yesterday evening I got the same problem. It was the first time that the nav monitor was flickering for some minutes.
It seems that the left half of the screen had a problem with the backlight, because on the left side the monitor was more or less dark than on the right side.

display Screen and therefore Sat Nav has fault. Screen not lit and CD player/radio does not play sound. Was working ok but failed with no warning.

I noticed a flicker last night and, given, the prior posts, I am wondering whether it had something to do with the fact I was parked up near some motorway lamps to my left which maybe was confusing the sensor. If anyone has determined via a dealer or otherwise whether there is actually a known fault, I would appreciate knowing before I tackle my dealer on the subject.
Thanks

I have the same, and have reported it to the dealer (who had no idea the display is supposed to even dim).
Also, it does repond (slightly) to instrument brightness control - but that too is intermittent (and dealer denies this control even works - but it does - sometimes!)

OK so 48 hours in a freelander and D3 is back
all mirror/sat nav and heater issues resolved with application of s/w patch number/level 13...whatever that is.
column knock is to be resolved with replacement of lower column link (known fault)
dealers top techy was superb, called me to discuss the job card in detail so he could understand the issues and then handed car over tonight with full explanation.
now at 9000 miles so 15000 mile service beckons TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue and still smiling

Interesting to see someone else has noticed the SatNav screen dimming and brightening at random. Mine had done this since new ( July 05) and I've had no real response from dealer here. Max TDV6 S
