Made good progress today, took me about 4 hours and its far from perfect, still a fair bit of fettling to do and glue it all into place. The rrs grill was Brunel grey with I think a shadow black insert, my D3 grill is stornaway grey.

If anyone picks up a 2010 onwards RRS grill [same shape as below link], then I'd be interested in the outer section - the part you discard.

Ron, I have a RRS outer, it's yours for nowt if you want to arrange something re: collection.

Hi narpy, guide was brilliant couldn't do without it ! I struggled a bit where you were saying to take 20mm off the uprights, if you could take a couple more pics of what you did there it would be really helpful, so I can adjust before I glue it all. Many thanks.

Brilliant write up for the grill mod. I have the bits i need to have a go but just need the time.
Ronp, I have the outer you are after, free to a good home.
Here we go... It looks ok from a distance, but there's a number of marks up close etc, still I think it's an improvement on the original, if my skills had been better it would have looked much better ! Thanks again narpy for the write up.
