My reply came from Martin Parker [mparkerATcequent.com.au (substitute @ for AT)] and was in reply to a question I had about both cargo barriers and a suitable towing hitch. I only referenced his reply about the towbar. To give HR an indication of the type of towbar I was interested in I had pointed HR to Rob Bruce's photographs.
I can't imagine that HR will be considering that type of modification and would only go for something similar to the South African one already mentioned in this forum due to the cutting work required on the rear cross member.

I was hoping Hayman-Reese might do an adaptor that would receive a standard type-3 hitch/tongue. fo all my bike racks, tow bars with Tregg hitch etc etc...
Thanks Leigh - I might give them a call too.
cheers,
Simon

I spoke to HR this morning and the guy said it's not far away as a Part No has been issued which means the design is finalised. Could not provide design details but said it should be available in 4 - 6 weeks. TDV6 D3 HSE

Last Friday, it was 3-4 weeks according to a reply I got rtegarding the towbar. But who cares? D3/LR3 owners are a patient lot. We have waited long enough for D3 aftermarket accessories to appear so a few weeks extra won't cause my hair to turn grey - too late!!

Some more info from Hayman Reese...
- it will be a standard type-3 hitch to accept all those tongues we're used to slotting into our tow hitches...
- no idea on time apparently, so yes, we will have to be patient, as we're used to...
cheers,

Well, after much agonising I've finally done it!!!!!!!!
Placed the order today for a white TDV6 SE, Alpaca interior and with active rear diff. Now all I have to do is wait till somewhere into October for delivery. So all the hypothesising now becomes real.
Thanks to everyone on the forum with their posts, which I've read voraciously - trying to decide if the Disco really was the way to go. All of the information and advice has certainly been useful. Look forward to being able to share some of my own experiences in the future.
Cheers,
Martin

I have just ordered a H/D Hitch from TJM. It raises the hitch 150mm giving a ball height of 500mm which is correct for my camp-o-matic Treig coupling. It should be delivered next week. The towbar hitch for the D3 is the worst piece of design I have ever seen. It makes a great plough. I am concerned that once a bit of dirt gets into the locking works it will never come out again. illinbah

TJM have done a replacement HD hitch???? What gives - don't these guys no how to communicate?
Illinbah - do you have any details on what it looks like/how it attaches/a pic? does it accept a std type-3 tow tongue?
Cheers,

Bummer - I was gettimg quite excited there. That is about what I measured too Illinbah. The base of my Treg hitch sits at about 520mm on the Pajero - unloaded, which with the heavy springs drops to about 500mm loaded to make the Campomatic sit flat.
Well we'll have to see what the Hayman Reese solution is, or it's order from Baben's contact.

I noticed that the towball sets off the PDC . Upon advice of Baben and others on this forum , I removed it - 2 bolts 5 minutes and now everything is fine

Martin at HR advised me a week ago that a HR replacement for the standard LR towbar for Disco 3'2 will be ready in 4-6 weeks. He said something about it being a 3000kg hitch.
