Just had mine flushed by disco_mikey at the weekend and although my oil was pretty clean, the flush with new oil has certainly made the box a lot smoother. I've scanned the last 5 years 70k of the cars £13k service history and no mention of any gearbox work.
I'm wondering if the oil might degrade in one of 2 ways, first the dark colour (hard work like towing) and second similar to original colour but with lost properties? Whatever, the flush has improved drivability and that alone is proof its worth a change on a preventative schedule.

Sorry if it was answered before...
After such a flush, do you reset the box's learnt information / clear adaptions / clear oil degradation?
If you don't, which could be the consequences if you only flush the oil and leave those alone?
Thanks!

No reset on mine but judging by the gearbox reset thread on here it might be worthwhile.

Reseting and reflashing may be appropriate, but reading and understanding the fault codes or other symptoms is essential in my view.
Never reflash the gearbox without reseting the adaptations first.

So, if I intend to change oil 7 filter, should I first flush the old one, refill, warm it up and then flush again and change the filter? Did I understand correctly? Thanks!

My own sump was immaculate, at 114k.
Only sump I have seen with anything worrying, was a TDV8 box, where 1st gear had itself, due to driver errorMy D3 Build Thread

Affected vehicles
Firstly, I must emphasise that this issue (according to Land Rover) does not affect all model years. Land Rover say that it may affect vehicles within the following model/year/chassis no combinations:
Range Rover (LM) - ZF 6HP Automatic Transmission
Model Year: 2008-2011
Chassis Range: 8A282106-BA356686
Range Rover Sport (LS) - ZF 6HP Automatic Transmission
Model Year: 2008-2011
Chassis Range: 8A165260-BA706935
Note At least one of the people who have helped me in this exercise think that the problem is not specific to just the above vehicles, and may be more widespread.
It is indeed more widespread, my 2006 TDV6 had exactly the same symptoms and error codes, got worse after every attempt to flush. Started symptoms around 150k km's, by 170k kms it was properly broken.
Replaced with a second hand box from a lower mileage vehicle.

Just had our box replaced, 55 plate se done 92k!!!! Owned it since 33k and has done very very little towing, I do drive it quite hard and had never missed a beat until we had transmission fault limited gears available flash up during an overtake, put it into neutral and back into drive then the engine went bang!!!!! had a new engine put in then dealer decides after fitting on a road test that there may be a problem with gearbox. 1 month later and its undrivable as it wont change into 4th gear. I changed the gearbox oil and filter myself and couldn't believe how black and burnt the oil was, there was a lot of fine sludge stuck to the magnet in the sump. My argument with Land Rover is that the 2 issues must be related and can not "just be coincidence"!!!!! I asked for a report on the engine failure but keep getting fobbed off. HELP!!!!! PLEASE!

After this intresting reading, somebody has been noticed about oil flushing can solve this issue.??
Flushing is kind of integral to the issue itself - the key point being made is that on a high mileage box, renewing the fluid may reveal such problems, as contaminants are removed, thinning the fluid.
A flush much sooner is only a good thing, and will indeed prevent such problems when done preventitively. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Thanks for your reply.
How to know if it is a machanical or electromechanical problem?
The error I read
P0730-00 TCM 62,059km Incorrect gear ratio
U0402-68 ATCM 64,782km Invalid data received from transmission control module
P0735-00 TCM 67,204km Gear 5 incorrect ratio
U3000-17 PBM 67,768km Control module
It appears under certain way of driving. More aggressive driving.
You'd be best speaking to an auto transmission specialist; it's often said that they use witchcraft for diagnosis!

This is typical of an E clutch issue, as per the thread. The mileage (or rather km-age) certainly looks very low to be getting transmission issues though.
