Do I need a software upgrade if I fit tow bar and electrics?

I have just obtained a removeable tow bar from ebay and the electrics kit from Nick at Yeovil. I am quite happy fitting the kit but woke in a sweat last night thinking that I needed a software upgrade to get the system working.
Am I right?
Does this now require a visit to the stealers to get it all working and is it likely to cost me money?
I have a few speakers which need changing as they buzzzzz with gay abandon on any track with the slightest modicum off bass, so I thought they might do the software tick in a box for the tow bar electrics at the same time.
Advice please guys.

It'll work without a software change. If you enable the towbar in the software it prevents the car from lifting to offroad height.

(PS only got your answerphone message today - don't check very often Embarassed I don't slow down for the roadworks Wink )

If it's enabled and the electrics are connected it inhibits offroad height.
