My D3 - D4 front end .... Wings painted...
Ok a cheap version of a D4 front upgrade .... all this is Moo's fault
Can a plain D4 bumper utilse the D3 spots i.e.
The D3 bumper has the 'hole' template and can be clearly seen from the back of it.... is the D4 bumper the same
The D4 bumper can be sourced complete with holes for fogs or without ....
Then if the plain type can be utilised ...... do existing D3 fog light bezels fit into the D4 bumper ....
or even better can the squarer D4 squarer bezel versions be used with the D3 fogs
Thanks
Oh so thats the D4/B4 front end that costs a fortune for parts .... post 2014
I need to do the earlier front end ..... cheaper for parts pre 2014
(edit title updates)D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.

Are you upgrading your D3 to the D4 2014 front end? If so the lights your looking at purchasing in the for sale section will not fit, as they are the pre 2014 facelift versions.

Woody .... I understand .... and thanks for the heads up
I like the look .... of the MY14 but looking at less than £300 with re sale of parts
Maybe Beanie/Narpy the MY14 grill (long term plan) .... as some now available
The lights are fine for my limited mod ....,
Cut back wings £0
Leave the one side grill £0
Front D4 Bumper £75 (two options)
New Headlights £150
Basic D4 grill £60 black n silver
Sell my D3 halogens £ ?
Just don't know about the fog light options .... hence my post as I have no knowledge and need help
Happy to use the D3 loom and spots just dont know what fits with what....
Happy days D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

Glad you sold the lights Robbo was saving up v slowly
Thanks for the post link ... as did read them just musn't have registered ..... there is a few plain bumpers on sale for £75 so if I can drill out and place in the existing fogs that would save me a small fortune ...
Beanie yep there a four at present ..... thats why I said long term ....
My spare parts will go up for sale soon so hoping to clear the amount of the lights and bumper....
Also the 19 alloys fell through so I may just keep the 18 inch ... as getting to like them now
TBH I think its going cancel each other out price wise D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

Just to let you guys know,
the D4 mk1 and the 2014-15 bumper of latest use the same fog light units, only the plastic moulding of the bumper and the covers have changed.
The D3 fogs are no use on D4 onwards as the mounting and angle of mounting is completely wrong.
sorry
Bobs spb has D4 halogen units for sale for £200 in mint condition to let you get the front end cheaper

Yep Mikey .... duh .... I meant xenons ....
Still learning ....
Robbo ...... thanks but this is Moo's fault as he caught me off guard selling his D4 halogens for £150
May be able to do all this for nothing money wise with swaps and sales
So I understand so far .... D4 fogs required ..... but the looms are ok off the D3 ....
MY14 out of my range of possibilities as moulding on bumper aren't bezel type fitments for fogs .....D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

D3 fog wiring loom okay only if you do not have front PDC parking sensors, as the D4 use different sensors, so fogs only is okay.
here is Steve's d4headlights thread for you, don't wait to long!!!

Thanks Robbo ....
I have the water jets and fogs on the SE ...... Front Parking Sensors TBH I can live without as never had them so it'll still be fine without them ...
Front D4 Fog Bezels are an issue now looking at how much they cost D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

In the middle of upgrading my 2008 D3 to a D4 2010 front end and have a question on PDC's.
The D4 2010 bumper I bought does not seem to have the holes for PDC's so would have to be drilled out, so my question is can i reuse my D3 existing PDC's and wiring loom on the new bumper ?
Any help or advice much appreciated....

Your choice, cheaper to use the D3 ones but you need to bond on the holders regardless, D4 will cost you a £100 for the new combined loom+ sensors

Thanks Robbo,
I think i will give the old ones a try ! Checked a few places and price being quoted are closer to £200 for new wiring loom (80) and 4 X PDC's (25 Each)
Gents- please advise- does the D4 bumper swap easily on to the D3? if not, what mods are needed please?
D4 HSE in Stornoway- love it. Jaguar XF, MG TF, D2 ES V8 and 2x TR7s for playing!
