Finally got the rack on.......:-)
Well, after a visit to Prospeed , I managed to lay my hands on their last MK1 rack, fitment is spot on , really impressed with the alignment and construction and finish of the product .
Thanks to paul ( jester1967 on here) for his advice and enthusiasm on the product, very helpful chap
The fibreglass cowling was to be fair, pretty hideous, the gel coat was not brilliant and the fact it was a gloss finish just highlighted the classic fibreglass ripple effect and it didn't go with anything else aesthetically.
So a good mate of mine,(jayuk on here ) flatted it down, and repsprayed it for me in a matt black , which nicely matches the finish on the A pillar trims, and hides the f/b ripple much better as there is less reflections.
Thanks again jay
They had no ladders in when I picked up the rack , so have just been waiting for stock, which came in on Friday.
Again , fit and finish is excellent, bit of a faff to fit , but not really difficult though.
The rack is super quiet and I can't say it's any different than before, it may possibly have reduced the noise I was getting from my RAI, but I could be wrong.
Having driven around for a bit with no cowling on, whilst it was being painted, I quite literally cannot believe how horrifically noisy it was without the cowling
Anything above 25mph, the thrumming started, above 50mph it was almost unbearable!!
Anyway, a few pics of the bus

I just need something to put on my rack now at least I can should I want to
Thanks for the comments chaps, ( sorry don't know how to multi quote )
Don't know for sure what is next, I have some ideas, but as with all my vehicles, the D3 is turning into a money pit , I tend to have an idea of how I want things to be, make them perfect in my eyes, then move them on
I have an itch developing so may end up in the same boat with this one , even though this was supposed to be a keeper

Well grzesiul,
I had in mind a winch at some point, though with my little brain working overtime at the moment and my heart fighting my head, I may see if I still have her in the near future , to actually fit said winch too. Procrastination is the thief of time!!

Do you have wheel spacers on your truck as they wheels seem quite wide or is it just the camera playing tricks? Looks a lovely truck.Tonga Green D3
