I am using a Xperia X compact, almost exactly the same issue.
static click (or high frequence "blip") after some minutes of using the phone,

it´s only with the sony, all (!) other phones or devices work proper on my 06 se.
any idea of how to solve this issue?
I have to admit that I am not very familiar with those software things

I had the similar problem (static click + disconnect + infotainment system frozen) with my Sony Xperia phone (Z5).
Seems like it is now permanently solved by fitting the D4 bluetooth module (phone works fine).
However I have realized that by fitting the D4 bluetooth module I have lost the Voice Control capability in my system (I know it was far from perfect, but I sort of got used to it...). I'm just wondering if it is lost for good after replacing the old blutooth module, or can it be brought back somehow?

Should be no reason why it won't work then
Unless .. you have a faulty navigation disk .. or the car configuration file has been changed for some reason
What actually happens when you pull the voice button?G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi wiggs I tried the other satnav DVD which I have, but no luck (Navigation works fine with both discs, but Voice Control with none...)
When I press the Voice Control button on the steering wheel - there is no reaction whatsoever.
I guess it is either a faulty button then or in fact the configuration file has been changed by the guys at the garage while fitting the D4 module...

I have a D3 HSE 05 but i cant pair my phone with it. I have the red and green buttons on my stearing wheel, but cannot find "LANDROVER" or any bluetooth signals, does it come with bluetooth or do i need to purchase this module i have been reading up about?
Cheers,
Andy

Doubt you have the factory kit then
You could have the landrover aftermarket kit .. this would show up as ford audio on a Bluetooth search
Or could just be someone swapped the old steering wheel for a newer one ( with phone buttons )
Without looking in the Bluetooth module locations to see if you actually have one fitted .. then it's all just guess workG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks Wiggs, where is the module locations? It mentioned in this post somewhere? I could have a look?
The centre console bit has phone symbols and phone mode to choose?
