Suspension Fault ...again! |
|
Hi All,
Here's a quick history of the fault and checks I have made....any advice would be good.
12 month ago 60A fuse blew 3 times in 3 months.
Replaced each time with out issue for usually 1 month or so.
9 month ago yellow suspension fault started appearing a couple of times a week.
Re-starting ignition cleared it.
Last 2 month or so the yellow fault light has appeared more often (every other time I use the car).
Re-starting ignition usually clears it and its sometimes good for several days.
Also...front suspension collapses over night.
Last 2 weeks...compressor running until time out, then yellow light.
Also front suspension collapsing in 10 mins of compressor switching off.
(Left hand seems to be collapsing first)
When the car has stood a while the compressor re-starts and ride height recovers in 5 seconds.
From this ......can I assume the compressor is working OK (pumping air)?
I have been around the car with squeezy bottle of soap and the only leak I have found is a small leak on both pipes coming from the air drier on the compressor (blue & yellow ring connectors).
Where do these go?
I intend to repair these leaks at the weekend with SMC pneumatic couplings and hose (acquired from work).
I have also checked the wiring under the wheel arch...all seems fine!
Any advice on what else to look for .... possible source of the problem...PLEASE?
Did phone LR service centre who said sounds like you need a new compressor!...also possible other parts.!!! I guess .....not interesting in finding the fault...just bolting new parts on until it all works!
Difficult to get the car to LR there as I'm miles away and can't get away from work!
Another weekend is it's last chance, then it's a Dunlop conversion I reckon!
