It's probably because Bailey are finding it quite an expensive exercise.
My box (made by Ryder ??) arrived a couple of weeks ago (van was picked up in November) and it's a simple plug n play. That said, it's a very robust unit and I understand it is costing £80+ per unit not to mention the P&P.
I am led to believe that arrangements are being made to include the mod @ point of build as the costs are minimal and do not affect other cars as a result of the mod but happy to be advised otherwise.
I'm going to the NEC in Feb, perhaps I'll make a nuisance of myself at the Bailey stand

I can correct you on that one. Baileys have given up on the LED lights on new builds & gone back to conventional bulbs.
I've got a Ryder on mine, and it works to show the telltale on the dash. It doesn't, however, disable the PDCs and I've only got jibberish from LR to the question of what triggers that action (crossed my mind it was current draw from trailer reversing light...the Ryder adds a resistive load on the trailer lights & perhaps it only does so on indicators....).

I don't think it's a Bailey issue as the cause is down to the car sending a pulse down the indicator lights that sets the led's off..
I have just fitted a towing relay in the boot of the D3 that takes 20 minutes or so and sorts the problem out with my caravan/ boat trailer lights..
Mark
Hi Mark
May I ask where you bought the towing relay and does it still work with conventional bulbs as well?
Regards
Jack

Led lights on swift caravans |
|
My swift dealer had numerous VLM boxes to try all for different vehicles, when they found correct one they ordered it from Sargeant and was fitted before I took delivery of my new van.

Hi
Did the Swift dealer tell you which VLM4 box you needed for your D3. Example an A2, A3 or a B1 etc. I have a Disco 3 HSE and I have the same problem with flickering indicators on my Swift 645

Russell, was yours an A3 or A4? I now have an Elegance 530 and am towing with a Graphite. I initially did a check with the caravan dealer and all lights worked fine - so "no VLM required". It was only when I started to tow that I discovered that the car's proximity sensors were playing up and I had no indicator telltale on the dash. Rather than yet another trip to the dealer, I'm tempted to order direct from Sargent.

@ UffBrock
Your dealer should throw in the box FOC and even fit it, suspect we could be using the same dealer. You can always get the dealer to supply and fit it yourself, full instructions are supplied with the box, takes about twenty minutes for the first time fit.
