TDV6 glowplug removal
I am sure someone will know, is there a tried & tested way to replace the glowplugs in a D3 TDV6 without shearing them off & getting in a world of s**t. I have been told the Sykes toll for the job. Check the link.
Any one used one with success ?

Is step one to remove engine from car to provide the clearance required?
Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
It seems like a set of reamers, an impact gun & a GlowPlug Repair Kit (whatever that may be).
One really needs to see the operating instructions before commenting, but the most relevant comment is Robbie's - either remove engine, or ? remove body ?

May I suggest "Googling" "seized glow plugs", and similar expressions.
There's lots of advice out there, about applying penetrating oil days in advance, working on a (very) hot engine etc..
Likewise Google "Wurth Rost Off Ice" - it's available on eBay & from a number of motor factors & Würth itself - they have a number of outlets www.wurth.co.uk/
I know of Wurth Rost Off Ice being used on a seized short engine which had been standing for some years with surprising (but not total) success when "the trade" said the block was past redemption!

Well, what can i say. The vibropac is the muts nuts. Stripped it out for access yesterday, dosed the plugs in the oil they send in the kit over the next 24 hrs. Went out to the workshop @ 2pm by 2.45 pm all 6 glow plugs had been replaced. None sheared. came out. Just the job. Highly recomended.
