Picking up a D3 Tuesday.
Just a quick message to say hi and looking forwards to becoming apart of this forum! I have been browsing for a couple of days and seen some extremely helpful advice along with some quite disturbing and quite frankly scary posts regarding faults! Haha
This is my first large car having owned two Fiat Puntos, a Grande Punto Abarth, Astra VXR & a Volvo V50 D5 2.4 estate for business use. I found the Volvo too small for what I needed it for so I thought I'd treat myself to a D3! I have always loved these and extremely excited for when I come to pick it up!!
I'm still struggling to find a standard spec list for each model as the one I'm picking up seems to have many extras from the SE model I'm collecting, however I understand many of these can be retro fitted!
These include full leather, heated seats all round, Sat-Nav, HK sound system (I think it does, two speaker grilles in middle row?), Xenons, 3 sun roofs, 18'' Alloys. This is all I can remember!
Hopefully It has been a well looked after beast by someone on here! Reg number 'HG05 FKS'.
Thanks guys!

The wiki contains all of the info regarding which features come as standard with each model. The SE is a pretty good spec.
I have been searching for something like that for ages! Will have a thorough look through!
And there will be pictures, don't you worry! 8)

Nice one! only had my D3 for 2 months now, had to make the big decision myself, do I keep my well sorted & loved D2 or go for a D3, after reading about all the problems still bought one and said bye bye to my 2001 D2, so far it's been fantastic a totally different motor to the D2, have a couple of the usual issues FBH not working, heated rear screen not working, had engine system fault & went into limp mode twice, once going over Ouse bridge on M62 middle lane with our twin wheel caravan on, car was pulling hard at the time, turned it off and started again and all was ok, fault cleared with Nanocom not done it again yet but we will sort it all out.

Pleased you like it! I have always had a soft spot for these so I'm hoping I shan't be disappointed! Fortunately (sort of..) I have owned Fiats and had countless repair bills so I'm fairly used to them!!
Are there any drivers of my age on here? (23)

Welcome to the madhouse! Hope you have a good set of axle stands and a jack
On a serious note, I'm sure you'll love your D3 when you get it. Look after it and it will look after you
I thought I was a bit young getting a D3 at 25 (26 now)! What's your insurance quoted, if you don't mind me asking?what is this life, if full of care?
we have no time to stand and stare.

Thank you, I'll be sure to invest! Any recommendations?

Yep, Kev91 is your age. Has had his 56 plate HSE for 2 years now.
Had mine for over 2 years, was a late 25th gift to myself.
Plus clean licence and many many ncbs = £330 FC..
Seems these D3's are getting rather popular with us younger drivers.
You'll love it, but do a check for the usual things that go wrong or wear as they age.
They don't need to rob you blind if you can hold a spanner and read a set of instructions.
Trev1. Search "engine system fault" look for the thread i started, bottom of page one has a rough guide to get to and free off the turbo actuator. Could be part of your issues. Total cost is a couple of hours spannering and a few quid for a wire coat hanger and some spray.
