Again, thanks for all your replies guys.

I finally have the car which is good and I do really like is although there is one issue that is there and bugging me!

I'm hoping a full flush and change of gearbox oil will solve but not 100% sure!

What happens-
When at a steady speed (Say 30mph) and I accelerate slowly up to 50 mph the rev needle rises but jumps up and down by say 5-10mm whilst rising and I can hear the engine note changing in sync too. I can also hear a sort of metallic sound when the revvs are jumping too.

I'm hoping this makes sense and is an easy 'fix'! I originally thought it might be the EGR sticking but don't think it's the case after that metallic sound.

How much roughly is a full gearbox flush and would you recommend taking it do a well known and decent independant mechanic or should it be taken to LR?

Sorry for all the questions!

Olly

^^^^ Definitely worth getting Geoff to do a flush.

Just be aware that it may not solve the problem, you may need a new torque converter anyway. From what you describe, it sounds quite bad.

Dr Tranny could also help (for a while anyway). Thumbs Up

Is there a way of telling if the torque converter is busted without spending £££?
