Looked at a MY06 disco. A few questions |
|
Hi, this is my first post here I have been lurking for a while now and am now trying to get my own disco!
I looked at one today, and I have few questions I'm hoping gurus on here can answer for me
The car has full history and 73000miles. No advisories on the mot. It's a my2006 hse spec.
Righto my first question.
Does this year and spec come standard with Bluetooth? I couldn't find any settings for it when playing with the stereo? Also there's a dock in the lid of the centre cubby, what's this for?
I tried out all of the different functions on the car as I could, such as engaging the different offered modes, hill decent, low range etc, I noticed when it went in and out of low range there was a mechanical click noise, I would guess this is normal?
Also tried to lock the centre differential and rear diff, but wasn't able to, I was probably doing this wrong, how do you normally do it?
Thank you in advance for your answers
Chris

Hi,
If it had factory BT then there would have been phone buttons on the steering wheel. You have to do a search with your phone and pair with 2121 password.
When you change from HI to LO range and vice versa then you should get a bing and you hear a mechanical click so that sounds normal.
I think a locking rear diff is an option so I'm not sure how that is engaged. IID PRO

Thanks for that
Never thought to try connecting to the BT from my phone the steering wheel phone buttons are there.
Anyone know anything on how to lock either diff? It definitely has both as I found them in the 4x4 info screen but couldn't work out how to lock them.

PTI (LR BT) was standard on HSE & Merto-police, option on others. My 06S had PTI as the dealer spec'ed its for a demonstrator.

The Diffs lock as and when necessary, when you select the off road settings. You do not lock them yourself. Just because it shows a locking rear diff on the dash info it does not necessarily mean it has one. The active rear diff was a paid for option. The display is a generic one for all models.

ISTR you can lock all the diffs on command. You put the car in low box & rock crawl mode, then creep forward. Diffs will show up as red and locked. Only any good if you have the 4x4 info screen, which obviously needs the screen and enabling if not HSE or above.
