When I requested a quote from NFU back at the beginning of August, just to get an idea of the costs, they were by far the cheapest. When I called them again in September to buy the insurance it had gone up by £100!! Lot's of D3 people must have claimed. Rolling Eyes
Went with Land Rover in the end as I wanted off road cover.....
I was going to go with BASC (British Association for Shooting and Conservation) but they don't do off road cover, but they will cover me if a shot pheasant lands on my car Shocked
If you are annoying me, just remember it takes 42 muscles for me to frown and only 4 to extend my middle finger, and I'm lazy so don't be offended.

Insurance quote

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and asm expecting delivery of a new D3 on the 7th December, my question is which insurance company do you guys reccomend?

I have just been quoted £503.66 for fully comp on a new HSE by Land Rover Insurance, I thought this was a bit steep, what does anyone else think?

Regards
Paul

Eh up Paul, how you doing fella Wink

I am with NFU, and for the most part I am happy with them, although they are not the cheapest.

10% less than mine with LR - obviously postcode, age and driving experience (claims) will affect quote wildly Steve N (qzd)

My wife has just insured our 55 D3 TDv6S with Sheilas Wheels for £286 - I've been through the insurance document and there seems to be no catch - £250 excess and Protected no claims - Oh and me as a named driver !

I just got cover with Tesco (not the value policy (no windscreen cover!), just normal) which came to £236, plus £50 cash back in vouchers ( can be used for Diesel) making it £186, protected full no claims and 350 excess. I think that's a bloody good deal, and I read the small print too (for once). I'm 38, in small Devon town.

Hi,

I got quoted £470 on my 05 HSE with one previous claim (not my fault) and one speeding conviction. The quote was from insure which I though was pretty good as it included..

Personal Business cover
NCD protection
Legal
£0 Voluntary Excess Thumbs Up

and I park on the road in a town centre near London Exclamation

The NFU were expensive for me, so I got a quote from Adrian Flux, £400 unlimited mileage for work and social/domestic, £150 excess and protected no claims. Includes off road cover as well, but no time trials etc.

Got a quote from RAC for the new Nissan Quashqai 2 diesel auto we are buying, insured as a company car through the business, myself and wife, £286 Shocked

Will try NFU local office tomorrow.
