Went to Isle of Wight with the G4 & trailer yesterday to collect a very rare Daimler Double Six Coupe Convertible......apparently this is only one of three or four RHD Coupes that were modified into convertibles by Lynx Cars......
It's been stored in a garage fro about 30yrs, after a small engine fire, even had its own ecosystem growing inside it!!
The number plate alone is worth a small fortune to the right person....
Will be a nice car once its been restored for the new owners...

Would love to see it when it's restored
That age of car would be classed as a modern marvel on the IOW Cheers Ian

Sorry Off on hols to Isle of Wight this summer - was shocked by the ferry prices too What's cheapest route? Was going to sail from Southampton so kids could have longer on the boat.
Have been told that its the most expensive ferry route in the world £/mile

Blimey. Didn't think there were any left. I worked on a double six 34 years ago. There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.
Ferry from Southampton to Cowes East was £76.00 return with Red Funnel.....
Didnt thank that was too bad.....
Crossing was an hour each way (well it would be as its the same distance.....)G4OC Secretary

RBP Where are you staying on the Island as some holiday lets, camp sites etc can offer discounts on ferry prices (or they used to) I always go from Southampton to East Cowes with Red Funnel but the in-laws (who live on the Island) always buy the ticket for us Cheers Ian

Thanks Hairy Dan - I'll look into it
Red Funnel is cheaper but can use Tesco vouchers on Wightlink.

I picked up my boat from the IOW last year.
If you come back on a late ferry (after 7pm i think) the crossing is half price. But whenever we turned up earlier they always let us on if they are not full up
Nice number plate.
