All,
I have acquired a Parrot 3200 LS colour bluetooth kit.
I have been informed that I will also nede some additional bits, looms, that will allow 'plug & play' install with mute into my D3.
The additional parts are;
06-124B telemute lead and an 06-426B adaptor instead of the leads supplied with the kit. "All hail the mighty Quattro"

After a lot of messing I wired my Parrot direct to the fuse box, bought an external speaker and now when the phone rings I switch the radio off myself - saved me a lot of messing around.
There isn't a lot of room behind the radio for the looms and adaptors I am told. A few extra's.....

My Sony kit was the same - needed the extra loom for the back of the audio system. Advantages are obviously that it uses the car speakers for the phone and mutes the stereo but it also rings through the stereo - so if your phone is in your pocket and the ringtone is not as loud as whatever is playing on Kiss FM, you won't miss the call.
Also - it says 'PHONE' on the stereo display panel when in use though this is possibly not an overiding reason to install it!

I don't think the parrot control box would fit behind the radio; there's barely enough room for the wiring looms. I haven't seen the newer Parrots but I couldn't see the older ones fitting anyway. It shouldn't be too difficult to make up an extension lead, maybe they're even sold, to allow the control box to be mounted somewhere else, e.g. under the steering wheel like the ipod control box, or elsewhere. I remember someone with a RRS saying that his control box was mounted under the center console trim. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

It's been a month now since your original post.....I'm definitely thinking of going down the 3200 LS route myself but wanted to find out how you got on first  Did you need both parts to install it correctly?
Any news/pictures would be great....I'm guessing you installed it on the hi-line/premium stereo in your HSE.....does anybody know if the same 'extra' parts are needed for the base-spec radio as per euro-spec SE?

I now have my Parrot LS 3200 installed. It works very well indeed. I had to order an adaptor cable to fit between the ISO connectors of the Parrot and the Ford PAG connectors of the radio (in this case the base radio).
The catalogue didn't list any adaptor cables for the Disco 3, but luckily they are same as those for the Jaguar X-type (or was it the S-type). I ordered these and they were spot on.
BTW if you have the Harman Kardon radio, you will need a different set of adaptors.
I did the installation myself and have to admit that it was a bit of a nightmare due to the complete lack of space around/behind the radio in which the hide the cables, adaptors and mute box. I took the permanent +ve from the 12V power supply in the bottom of the centre console. The switched 12V came from the stereo loom.
I managed to remove the centre console trim, only breaking 2 of the 4 metal spring clips that hold it in place  It all clipped back together perfectly though with no loose bits or rattling, so I'm happy. I also had to make a small cut with a needle file to be able to pass the screen cable through to the control/mute box.
I didn't want to mount the screen somewhere that would make it stick out like a sore thumb and with this in mind, the only decent place is in front of the blank panel on the right of the stereo (were the telephone button is on the hi-line kit). Whilst this would be perfect for RHD cars, it does put the display slightly out-of-sight on LHD cars, although using voice tags, you really need to physically look at the screen anyway. At the moment, it's held on with velcro, but I'll use some transparent silicon to 'glue' it once I'm happy that everything works.
The microphone is mounted in the right side of the instrument cluster bay and at the moment works well....I would have liked to locate it in the headlining at the top of the A-pillar as per previous installations, but I was worried about it getting flung into the drivers face if the airbags are set off for some reason. 
Anyway...here's the photos.....total cost was 149 euros plus 16 euros for the adaptor cable.

Due to other overriding issues with my car I haven't had the Parrot kit installed by TFC yet........
Everything is on hold until the current major issue is resolved.......one way or the other. "All hail the mighty Quattro"

There isn't.....and you're right, even the wiring looms are very squashed in there.
I used my adaptor cable as an extension and just about managed to poke it through the top right of the radio aperture into the area under the air vent before connecting everything up.
I eventually wedged the mute box in a little hollow part that I found behind the air-con controls. 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

I just had one of these installed yesterday. I bought it and had it installed by the Carphone Warehouse. Guy did a good job but wanted to install it mounted in front of the sat nav on a bracket!. The supplied bracket is poor and gives limited positioning options. I got him to fit it on the blank panel next to the radio and it sits well there without hiding anything, but easily within reach.
I believe there was plenty of room to fit the boxes down the back and yes a special loom is required for the Harman Kardon system.
Apart from a click when activating / deactivating the system it works well. The click is apparently inherent on some audio systems and not a parrot issue, so the installer said..... Sail Fast - Live Slow...

Damn...I wish I'd thought of that  Did the guy have to cut a small hole to pass the cable through or did he have a better idea? (I hated the idea of cutting a hole in my trim).

There is zero room behind the stereo, although there is a reasonable amount of space either side (underneath the air vent tubes).

Actually it is caused by the Parrot system (you didn't hear any clicks before it was installed did you?). The installer said it was a stereo issue to avoid getting the blame or having to try and explain it  .
Seriously though, there are two possible clicks that you're hearing:
1. From what I remember, the Parrot 'universal' mute box works by switching the speaker feeds between the original stereo output and it's own 'telephone' output. It does this via good old fashioned relays. This switch-over is the click that you hear. It appears to come from the audio system because you don't hear the click when it's switched off. This is because the Parrot system disconnects the audio system when there is no incoming signal anyway meaning that when you 'activate' the Parrot, it's already switched on.
2. If you have the Harman Kardon system, then I think the D3 stereo feeds into a separate amplifier. As the Parrot switches over the inputs to the amp it causes a small pop/click/crack to be heard from the speakers. Again, this sound is being output from the audio system, but is still actually being caused by the Parrot.

Cost was £225 from memory.
No holes cut, the cable is pretty thin and squeezes between the stereo and the facia. Sail Fast - Live Slow...
