My V8 Brakes Upgrade
DETAILED WRITE UP AND PICTURES ON PAGE 2 OF THIS THREAD
With all pads and discs reaching end of life at the same time, I decided to go ahead with the V8 brakes upgrade and also change the EPB shoes. First I ordered the kits from Steve at Advanced Factors, plus a few extras such as brake cleaner and those EPB shoes. Having seen all the parts that came, I am so glad Steve sells this stuff in a kit.
This is what arrived the day after ordering, thanks Steve

First impression is - OMG, what have I started and how long have I got this coming weekend to do the work. Looks like the weather will be warm and dry
I have read Bodsy's Brake Bible once from front to back and have it ready for bedtime reading between now and Saturday. I have also searched and read just about every thread with reference to brakes and V8
Assuming I dont forget, I will take a few pictures and comment on anything that may be of interest to others.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Dale, that was my target time - I will then have it finished before Mrs Barnie gets home and sees what was in the boxes she could not lift! Waiting for the question - "why do you need all that stuff just because the dash says "check brake pads"?"2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

As per AF web site. I have siad that the garage would have bought it all anyway, which is mostly true.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Makes sense then, the brakes and lack of urgency is something thats worried me a little. Maybe it'll find its way to the top of the want list now then!!

This is something I would like to do to mine when the current pads are shot. However mine being a base 7 seater requires larger wheels first. All of which is currently on hold due to a non Discovery related disaster. Freelander SE 2005 Auto.
