Transmission fault ..Help!?!

2005 Disco3 HSE Auto

Driving along and transmission fault comes on.

HDC fault flag displays occasionally

Off road modes not available scrolls up (can't remember exact phrase)

If I put the gear selector in park then the park brake comes on by itself.

Park Brake will not auto release as you engage drive like it should.

Suspension lowers (can be raised after shut down but lowers as you drive off)

No brake discs or hubs unusually hot but gear change occurs about 400 rpm too high as if it's dragging somewhere.

Lo range flashes green on dash.
Warning lights on as per photo.

Lo range/ high range selector is flashing but cannot be used.

Off road modes selector cannot be used.

Parking brake can be selected on and off while parked.

Any thoughts as to the root cause? Don't say landrover....

I'd start with the brake light switch and the brake light bulbs.

Problem turned out to be the power supply plug for the transfer box ECU, one pin had rusted away partially, it was supplying power enough to communicate with the ECU but not enough for it to function. The fact it could still communicate made the fault hard to find. Took two lads half a day to trace it. The mechanic took the time to show me the wiring diagram. The main point I learned is that there is a huge amount of things that can cause these symptoms, virtually any part of the what makes it go, stop or gives it suspension. Cost €160 to repair.

Lucky you that have a mechanic that understands.
Here in Sweden they always suggests changing some expensive hardware. Usually it is not the cause of the problem.
