It's because you took them on a phone which you held at 90 degrees to vertical.
You can rotate them in your settings I believe.Mods:

I have the same problem regular with an Iphone. You get them to your computer put them straight up and as you upload them somewhere they do another turn.Roel

TO rotate your photo, go into your gallery and open the photo, then click on Crop and Rotate
Rotate the photo to get it the correct way and then click on Save Picture
