United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

I did a 200 mile motorway run last week. at 65 mph on cc I was getting 28 mpg. with the cruise control off and doing a steady 75-80 it went up to 33.4mpg. quite pleased with that, 25mpg around town

Is that what your trip comp was telling you or actual figures of fuel in vs distance covered? They can differ by quite a bit. Thumbs Up

Careful taking an example of a good day mpg wise as being representative. My best brim to brim is 36.1mpg, but my average over 125k is 26.1mpg. And that's with probably 80% cruising at 60mph. These are thirsty cars and if averages in the mid 20s is painful then you have the wrong car. At least diesel is a tad cheaper now which helps though. Thumbs Up

On my usual 88 mile Halifax to Lincoln trek this morning tried to see how high I could get. The first hilly part out hits the avg but by the time I came off the M180 onto the A15 I was up to 36.2 after a steady and dull 56mph on the motorways. The A15 and Lincoln knocked me down to just over 34, still better than I've had before.

I use the consumption as a guide to what is about to break next. Front callipers where replaced due to worse than normal fuel consumption, plus monitoring the tyre temperatures via my TyrePal Thumbs Up
