Hello from another new owner! |
|
Hi, just wanted to introduce myself to you all.
I'm Simon, living near Port Talbot, S Wales and in less than one weeks time, i'll be taking delivery of my first Discovery 3!
Not brand new but as good as, she's a 2006 TDV6 S manual in Zermatt Silver with less than 10K miles so to say i'm excited is an understatement!
I'm a long term Land Rover fan, having owned a SIII SWB pick up and several Range Rover Classics from an old 2 door upto a late Vogue SE.
My boss (and good friend) gave me a budget of £20,000 to buy a good hard working tow vehicle for our custom furniture business. We could have bought a Jap truck of some description brand new but I persuaded him that a nearly new Disco would be a better long term bet and be much more comfortable as we will be doing VERY high mileages. He was so impressed with them that he's getting a new one for himself and paid nearly 26K for mine!
So, any tips for a new D3 owner? Any advise would be welcome.
Also, we'd both be interested in any off road/green laneing exploits coming up in the S Wales/west areas.

Hi simonmd - Welcome to DISCO3.
You've made a brilliant choice in getting a D3 - and you wont regret it You'll soon experience the well-known D3 term 'permagrin' 8)
Glad to hear your boss was also impressed with the D3. I'm sure there will be off road ventures you could attend, depending on how far you're prepared to travel. Have a look round Events and see if anything suits.
Have fun the with D3 and make sure you post pics for us all to awe at!

Welcome!
I'm sure there'll be a Boughrood event coming up at some point. There's also a members services section you may want to have a look at posting, but Martin has some commercial rules as well, (Martin is the site owner) so best check with him before you post about your furniture business.

Is that a euphimism?
Click on Profile (top right) and change your country (profile information) to Wales.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
