engine failure

Ok all
I have a disco 3 2.7 and over the winter months I have been having a mystery problem. you will be driving along the road and then out of the blue she will go into get me home mode when you stop the car and restart it she is back to normally this has happened 6 time over the last 3 month the one thing I have found is it only dose it when the temperature is at 0c and below.
she has full power and runs like dream the rest of the time has anyone came across this before.

When you said engine failure I thought you meant engine had died-ed.
May be better changing title to a more suitable to get more help

Fuel filter, turbo actuator, LPFP/HPFP, split turbo hose or intercooler, faulty injector...
