| Northern Off Road Newbie/Training/Driving Sunday Sept 30th |
|
Further to the initial thread started by CY, I have now secured the venue for the Off Road day in September. It will be staged at Parkwood 4x4 in Tong which is just off Jn. 27 of the M62 near Bradford (www.parkwood4x4.co.uk)
This event is a private day at the off road site and will be suitable for complete beginners (full tuition available) intermediates (convoy led) and experienced drivers too. The site has a multitude of different terrain ranging from gentle gravel tracks suitable for all vehicles right up to challenging winch only sections for the brave!
Come and see what your Disco 3 can really do with no pressure from anyone, do as much as you feel confident and no more.
Cost for the day is £35 per car which gives full access to the site from 10.00am to 4.00pm, if you are a complete beginner and require tuition there is an additional £25 fee which represents great value for money and the site is one of the best in the North.
I will also require volunteers to lead convoys and marshal the site and would like to have at least 2, preferably 3 winch equipped cars there just in case.
Once you confirm I will need to collect a deposit (details will be via PM)
Any questions, please drop me a line. TDV6 HSE Auto - Arctic Frost

Just to add that the full tuition option is exactly that, step by step coaching from Ian (10forcash) an experienced tutor.
The tuition cost is based on 8-10 people signing signing up, if we can't get the numbers we may need to review this element. TDV6 HSE Auto - Arctic Frost

If it helps, I'll swap over to full tuition. Brute force and ignorance, the D3 does the rest.

Just a note regarding marshals, you will of course be able to play on the site, not just supervise!
Only criteria for marshals is,
1. Plenty of recovery gear
2. Off-road tyres
3. Experience
4. First-aid training (not essential) TDV6 HSE Auto - Arctic Frost

If we have chosen the full tuition will we also get some time after to 'practise' what we have been taught on our own?
PS how do we confirm?

Yes of course, practice is the best bit
If you are 100% just tick the confirm box. I will send out payment details etc in due course. TDV6 HSE Auto - Arctic Frost

Martin has been tweaking the signups bit - only the topic starter can set the confirm flags for people now... mooie koplampen

...have an article in this weeks issue trying to determine The World's Besr 4x4 [you'll never guess what won... ].
Coinsidently, the special event was held at Parkwood 4x4 in West Yorkshire! It shows all different bits of the venue and is well worth reading (also to see how well the D3 does:))
