Somebody in an other forum discovered that the mechanics of the sunroof has cracks. After he postet it, there were about 5 others with the same problem. Pic in my Gallery. It is apperently a known problem. The garage replaced already a few others.
Wondering that there is no callback from LR? Your sunroof flys away and then?

No one with the same  Most of them were 2006 and earlier models.

Just checked mine and yes I have them on my 2005 model...will call dealer and find out what they are going to do about it. MG

Just checked mine and I have cracks starting on both sides (2006 model), I will have a word with my dealer.

Yes and many thanks Mounty for the notification, could have been an expensive issue when the earlier cars are out of warranty. Would have thought this was a recall issue really. I've called the dealer and added this to the ever extending list of warranty issues when it goes in again (so long as they don't offer me a mk1 FL....) in a couple of weeks!

Thanks, top tip!
The sunroof on my 2005MY car had similar cracks and in the middle the crack was already 2mm deep. The dealer is ordering a new frame (EED500023) under warranty, otherwise the cost would be around Ł800.

I think I've an export model HSE as it came with a sunroof rather than the normal raised air intake. It's in for warranty work soon,so hopefully I can get this changed.

Ive checked mine (my06, bought 6 months ago).
Ive opened the sunroof only 3-4 times, most of them when the vehicle was stand still and once when it was on move (for 2-3 miles distance). I checked today the sunroof, two small hairsized cracks....
im sure that the cracks exist and situation get worst...

Same problem on a '05/55 HSE. Garage will replace it once I can find the time to bring it in.

So, if this problem do not appear on my07 onwards, does this mean that LR knew it and took care of it??
i believe that the material used for the frame is faulty (quality of EED500023).....
But had anyone out there faced a real problem with sunroof (at least in the older D3, which over 2 years old) and had to go to the service?? Or the cracks are just there.....
