You could replace your faulty EGRs at £100s and wait for them to go again ...or... blank them with decent quality plates and remove the butterfly valve in the intake (you can also remove the EGR pipework if you want) and forget about them, I'm not 100% sure but I think a 2006 model wouldn't even throw an EML 8)

Thanks Geoff! - this is why i love a good forum
Ive came from 300tdi then TD5 so the D3 TDV6 is all new to me. Ive fitted EGR valves to a RRS 2007 and it was a real pain for the LHS! my TD5 was de-egr'd and id love to do the same on the TDV6.
is there any kits about to remove the system or is it a DIY job? I understand an euro 3 system is not self sensing where as the euro 4 is and will need remapping or an emulator from what i understand.
Basically , on a Euro3 <2007 what more is needed than just a plate putting in?
many thanks
Mark
ps, just seen your PM - will be in touch soon as im reading good things about a BAS remap and id like to know more! (when funds allow)

Have a read over this, it tells you all you need to know, take your time and it will be fine, many on here and elsewhere have done this without any trouble. Do your preparation and select whose blanks you want to use
