[quote="RBP"]Hi Mark

Hoped your wallet would have been spared this month Big Cry

I had diff noise recently - had all diff oil changed & additive added - all good since.......

Don't think prop shaft replacement is too expensive though?

Thumbs Up[/quote

Hi Mark,

Just looked at the bill - called Lucas oil stabiliser.

There was a slight noise from the rear diff. Decided to try changing the diff oil & adding this stuff. So far so good - done about 1500 miles since without noise. Hopefully won't need a new diff any time soon... Rolling Eyes

Thumbs Up

I hope not fella .I have been told that the vibration on the overrun is the propshaft bearing so hopefully I may not need front diff but there is a noise even the garage admit that. So I might put some of that stuff in Thumbs Up

All these problems make the thought of D3 ownership very frightening. My D2 has had it's issues but seems so much simpler to put right. I want a simple reliable Landrover, my wife wont consider a Defender. Would you advise going for the D3?

"I want a simple reliable Landrover " Is there is such a thing and if there is a D3 isnt one of them Shocked
All I would say is look at lots of D3,s get to know them and their faults, read about them on here and feel free to ask questions. The people on this site are by far and away the best people I have talked to for friendliness and information. Don,t rush into buying one as I did and have ended up with a few costly problems that if I had known what I was doing would not have bought it Crying or Very sad But I have had most sorted and learned a lot on the way, I have also made friends on here so all is not so bad. The main thing is DON,T RUSH INTO IT AND TAKE YOUR TIME, there are plenty about for sale. (Although prices may increase as winter is coming Thumbs Up) Took that quote from Game of Thrones when Jon snow is tring to buy a D3 to go boyond the wall Laughing

Check service history then check it again ! Has it had a gearbox oil flush, has it had diff oils changed ? All these things I wish I had checked when I bought mine in July I may be a little better off if I had. Take your time and ask lots of questions. Good luck Thumbs Up

Hi Mark, yes - have a BAS remap.

Have been having a few on\off turbo fault codes recently though. One minute it goes like the clappers the next its a bit sluggish. Mick (Flack) thought it might be the intercooler but he hasn't had a look yet.

To be honest your motor seemed fairly lively even with the issues you were having at the time - could the last owner have had it mapped and not told you? Or perhaps mine has gradually lost a bit of pace over the years without me realising Confused

Sorry - I wouldn't know how to check if it had been mapped or not.

Did you say the previous owner got everything done by the main dealer? These types wouldn't normally have a remap. Wink
