The fuel filter changed to the 'cheap' canister type from around 07MY - earlier vehicles had the larger one with 4 fuel lines connected
BTW they are not £67, more like £15 - £25 depending on source (OEM but NOT from a main dealer) Never get mad - get even !!

I think Brumlee beat me to the post, but another good source of TDV6 service parts is:-
Also it is worth remembering that LR do not actualy make filters themselves (obviously) they will be either Fram, Mann or Mahle - all good quality makes, LR simply ask for their logo to be stamped on the item, and then double the price
But I guess you guys knew that anyway Never get mad - get even !!

Do one have to bleed the fuel after replacing the fliter (on 05 TDV6).
I am planning on replacing my diesel filter and someone told me that you have to bleed the system after replacing the filter - do you need special tools for the job?11 Disco 4 SDV6 HSE

Fuel Filter 05 Disco 3
I changed mine this weekend and yes did go to the main dealer for the part and cost £67 all in. My fuel filter is located under the front driver side of the vehicle as per mentioned in previous post the filter is held on by a steel clip, 10 mm bolt. The filter should have a colour coded label attached to it specifying the correct colour fule line for connection. Be carefull when disconnecting the old filter as it will have diesel in it. Once connected you will have to bleed the fuel line and this is done in the engine bay by first removing the main engine cover and at the rear towards the dash you will see a small gray cap. Unscrew the cap switch the ignition on only upto where you see the dash light up, do not start engine. Go back the the engine bay and go back to where you unscrewed the cap there is a valve like similar to a tyre valve squeeze the valve untill diesel sqirts out you will need something like a rag or kitchen paper to stop diesel spilling over engine bay. Probably will need to repeat this three times before all the air is bled from the system. There is a good post on this on the forum just do a search.
Good luck and enjoy
P.S.
You will need to remove a plastic panel prior to seeing the fuel filter.Don't be blinkered vision, see the world in colour.
Thanks to all of your guides I went through the oil change procedure on the last weekend.
I replaced the air filter with the MANN C31196 (16,74+20%VAT), the oil filter with MANN HU 934/1 x (9,10+20%VAT), the inside air filter with the MICRONAIR MP176 (23,66+20%VAT).
I replaced the oil with the very expensive LIQUI MOLY Top Tec 4300 5W-30 (6 liters 77,95 incl 20%VAT).
I wasn't able to find the fuel filter so I purchased the original one LR009705 and they charged me 54,98+VAT.... yes SKP, it must be gold (or at least silver) plated.
I must say I've never seen an engine oil so black.
SWMBO was so impressed too (by my shirt).
All this procedure was done without any difficult
Now I'm thinking about performing the new oil change after 20000 km 'cause I'm quite sure 24000Km are too many.
prices in Euro
hope this helps
Next job, will be the ARB bushes and the suspensions arms, my biggest pain in the a

Bought the older 4 pipe filter for £11 inc vat from Bearmach Exeter 4x4 two days ago. Had to buy a suspension pump a couple of months ago and they were the cheapest I could find anywhere - still well over £300 ..... oh well, it's only money !!

Fuel Filter Leak
I have later style fuel filter with water trap sensor attached to bottom. There appears to be a slow drip of fuel from the bottom of the filter. Anyone experienced this before?
Also, what is best way to remove filter?

shanetrotter, the filter is under the drivers seat just in front of the tank. Remove gearbox protection cover, look to the back and you will see the filter cover as per pics above and remove, unclip sensor wire and screw filter loose. I've not had this problem yet.D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Done mine today. My 07 didn't have a gearbox protection cover. Just had to remove the cover as per the pictures above.
It's right under the driver. The pictures helped a lot. Thanks otherwise I would have never found it.
Mine came with the 2 new seals. You just disconnect the sensor. Pull the old one down and out. I had to push the top plastic up to get it out. And refit the old sensor onto the new filter, using the new seals. Them put in the new one.
