Lookers of Colchester - shame on you

My son-in-law bought a new Disco 4 HSE Lux from Lookers in Colchester in 2012
Last week it went in for it's annual service and first MOT.
He told them about the banging noise when it went over bumps and when ever a door was closed Confused
"We are unable to replicate the fault" and returned the car
Next day we went out in the Disco 4 and it was banging on every bump in the road
When a passenger jumped in and shut the door I said, "Whoa, do that again!"
WTF - the banging was coming from the glass roof Rolling Eyes
The rear section was lifting up about 25mm!!
Now Lookers had been asked to check the glass roof because of the service recall.
They said there was nothing wrong with it and in any event would take 2 days to fix if there was Rolling Eyes
The next day he booked it in with the less than helpful receptionist.....
......he even had to call Land Rover Assist and arrange his own Courtesy Car with them
Land Rover Assist guy confirmed that Lookers Customer Care is crap
Lookers have said they need to car for 4 days to fix the defect....
...every time he has asked Lookers to do something on his 'new' Disco 4 they fail to deliver Banging Head
Remember this is the same Main Stealers that screwed up my leaking Disco 3....
.....this lead to an intervention by Land Rover Customer Relations.
What does it take to get them removed from Land Rover dealership?
 Cheers, Dave in Essex

That's appalling! Your son in law must have had one of the bad bad ones and still they weren't fussed about doing anything. That could have caused serious damage to someone one or something. Sounds like they need to pick up the pace of work too, had mine sorted in under 3 days and they did a top job. Hope he gets it sorted to the right standard Thumbs Up

...every service from new he has asked them to replace the plastic cap over the nut on the rear wiper Whistle
It dropped off about a week after he got it Victor Meldrew
Do you think that Lookers have dealt with this small request from a loyal customer Rolling with laughter

Panoramic roof glass

Hi all
I have a insight into this issue, and have removed and refitted several of these recalls, including replacing the original one that became separated and sparked off the recall, if i can be of any help and offer any advice, let me know.

The roof glass can safely be removed, but care must be taken when resetting it so it doesn't stress crack at a later date.

That's a shame, I do not post photos anywhere without our watermark, too many moderators/ companies have used them to promote themselves,

United States 2013 LR4 4.4 V8 HSE Lux Auto Java BlackLR4
Replacement done

Done through my local dealer who has this repair contracted out to a local body shop. I've had two LR4's done recently at this local shop, as arranged by my dealer. One with the recall, and one covered under my insurance because of a branch that fell and cracked glass. Both replacements only took about a day and a half (dropped the car at dealer one morning and had it back by the next afternoon). Had to let the adhesive "set" overnight. Apparently involves removing the headliner and side pillars.

The dealer needed a little advance notice to order the large panoramic glass piece. They are able to "overnight" the glass, but have had many arriving with cracks, so they are using a slower, more careful freight delivery.

The local shop did an impeccable job... clean and as if nothing ever happened.

I hope everyone's recall repair goes as well as mine.
