Next easiest thing to check I guess is the switch. A single screw holds it in place. I can't remember if it then slides forward or backwards to get it out. Not sure if it can be easily tested with a multimeter but you can at least disconnect and reconnect the connector.
I had a problem with corrosion on a wire join down near the suspension compressor on my D3 but that also threw up a parking brake warning light.
The next stage I guess is getting under the car and checking voltages etc at the EPB module but that procedure is best described by those more experienced in EPB matters than I.

Coke seems to be the weapon of choice for damaging EPB switches, but occasionally I can smell lemonade.
